A god of desire on the edge of burnout meets a mortal with a unique and secret past...In the arms of transsexual woman Gina, has Himeros finally discovered the one with whom even an immortal could find fulfillment?

Gina is forced to confront her fears when she attends a high school reunion. Born into a male body, she spent her childhood and teens living as a boy, and has only returned in an effort to put the past behind her so she can begin to live life without the continuing fear of loneliness and rejection.

Himeros is one of the immortal gods of love, and as such it is his duty to answer the call of desire whenever a human needs him. But he has been living among mortals too long and his energy has waned. When he decides to accept one last call he finds a woman who is unique. A woman who answers his own call and offers everything he desires. A woman who understands the whole human experience, from every perspective.

Has he finally found the one with whom even a god of desire could find fulfilment? Forever, after all, is such a long time to be alone.

Want to read this one first in the series? Go ahead! Each of the GODS OF LOVE novellas is stand-alone with a common theme featuring the winged gods of desire known as the erotes. This steamy romance novella offers hot (M/F) romance plus a guaranteed happy ending!

Greek Gods aren't ancient history in the Gods of Love series from Jennifer Lynne. Once again, the gods are alive and well, and looking out for mortals who need their help. In this second installment, sexy Himeros comes to the rescue of Gina, a transsexual who has done something we can all relate to - gone to her high school reunion. Only there's much more at stake for Gina. It's the first time her former classmates have seen her as a woman. Goaded by her old nemesis, she blurts out an impressive lie - that she's attending with her fiancé. Enter Himeros - the Greek God every woman wishes she could take to her class reunion.
I didn't know gods suffered from workplace burnout, but apparently, they do. Himeros is prepared to do his job, but he's tired of eons of helping mortals in need of sexual gratification without benefit of an emotional connection.
Having heard her silent call for help, Himeros swoops in, puts Gina's nosy, judgmental classmates in their place, and whisks Gina upstairs for some heavenly sex. I can tell you, none of my class reunions turned out like this!
I admit that I have no basis to relate to what Gina has gone through, first as Gerry - physically male but knowing in his heart that it was wrong - now living inside her newly created female body. She has all the right parts now, but the desire to use them has been clouded with fear of rejection, so much so, it's been eight years since she's been with anyone.
What I can relate to is the way Himeros seduces Gina. Holy smoley. Heck yeah. What woman wouldn't give in to his sexy body and smoldering words? His mission is to sort of - awaken the dead, and I can tell you, Himeros is up to the task! The sex scenes are beautifully crafted, and even though Gina can't help but remember what it was like to be Gerry it didn't take me out of the moment.
Remember our hero Himeros is in need of a wake-up call of his own, and Gina, it turns out is just the one to give it to him. Because Gina has been there, she's able to see past his god-like body and sexual prowess to the loneliness he hides from others.
Aphrodite Calling is a beautiful story about two lost souls who find each other. It could have been simply a story about a transsexual and a Greek God, but it's so much more. Ms. Lynne is a wonderfully talented storyteller. Her characters, both god and mortal, are well crafted and believable and the naughty scenes are hot, hot, hot!
I give this wonderful story 5 stars, and unequivocally state - I can't wait for the next installment. How many erotes were there??

Aphrodite Calling Gods of Love Book 2 edition by Jen Katemi Jennifer Lynne Deadra Krieger Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

The best thing about this book was its broadening of my understanding about trans-sexuality, there was certainly some fun scenes as well.
This kept my full attention. It has given me insight into the passions and desires within those who are transforming.
A very different book to the kind I normally read however I enjoyed this insight into Gina's life, her hopes and dreams and what she experienced during her school years. It certainly opened my eyes and Ms Lynne's writing was so well done, I wanted Gina to have everything she'd ever hoped for out of life. I will be looking out for more of her books.
A brave new woman - that's an apt description of the heroine in Jennifer Lynne's new erotic novella, Aprodite Calling. Before I read the book, I was not sure if I'd like this transsexual woman, but as soon as I met Gina, I couldn't help but like her. She's strong and brave, and fragile and vulnerable, all at the same time. She's one-of-a-kind, and yet she's just like every one of us.

And then there's her hunky hero. If you thought his brother was hot in Platinum Passion, look out for Himeros, he's even hotter! This series is about the Greek gods of love, and each of them is a sexy blend of human appetites and god-like powers. Sort of super-heroes of sexuality. And of course each one has the body of, well, a Greek god!

Now how do these two fit together? Amazingly well actually--their bodies fit together as perfectly as their needs. She fills a need in him that no one else has even seen before. And he touches her in a new way, bringing her to heights she'd never dreamed of.

This story is sexy and erotic, romantic, and surprisingly sweet. In the end, it is the author who is the brave woman, giving us a new story that will stay with us long after the heat of the moment dissipates, because these two characters will reach in and touch your heart.
"Aphrodite Calling (Gods of Love #2)," by Jennifer Lynne is a beautifully written, almost poetic novella. It features Gina, a post-surgical transgender woman, who through the divine intervention of Aphrodite the Greek goddess of love, beauty, pleasure, and procreation, finally rids herself of all vestiges of the guilt and shame of her transition that she carries with her like a boat anchor. Through the erotic kisses, gentle caresses and sexual passion of Aphrodite's studly male envoy Himeros, not to mention the explosive sensuality of their coital couplings, Gina finally achieves the powerful experience of life as a truly female being. This little novel is so wonderfully graphic, descriptive and incredibly titillating that the reader is privileged to be able to ride to this experience, stroke by stroke, right along with Gina.
I have a personal reason to why I bought this book. Having a child who is transgender is one of the most amazing experiences one can live with and I do it everyday. She has taught me what courage and bravery really is. When I learned of this book with the heroine being a transsexual person, I had to grab it up. I have only read one other book with a trans person and it was the same horrible stigma and stereotype attached that turned me off from the story completely.

We are faced with Gina (previously Gerry) as she heads to her reunion. Something everyone hates right? But she has to show everyone that she is no longer the man they remembered but truly the woman she always had been. I was taken by this character's realness immediately and when Himeros came to the rescue I was cheering for her!

This is a story of finding one's "Aphrodite", one's inner beauty and love and Ms. Lynne captured this perfectly. I can't rave enough about how well the characters were portrayed and will be recommending this to as many people as I can. This was a fabulous tale.
